Now, needless to say, is a great time to take a break, step back from the things that are causing you stress, and do something to make your life and the world better. Today’s activities provide some opportunity to do this from cooking to researching to dancing there is sure to be something here to help you relax. Take a look and enjoy!!!
One of my all time favorite things is fondue. In a time when buffets may be off the table (pun intended), fondues may come back into style. You can buy a fondue set for anywhere from $20-$60 or just use a pot with bamboo skewers to enjoy the experience just as much for less money. Fondue has all the variety of a buffet in theory but is limited to being on your table to share with those with whom you personally choose. So try out these great fondue recipes for savory or sweet fondue as well as the great options available here! Cheese fondue is my favorite and the most traditional type of fondue but I am always wondering what to include in it. Check out these tips on what to dip in your cheese fondue.
It’s so boring to think of exercising in typical ways and in a small space it’s that much harder to exercise privately. Combine exercise with karaoke and you get Just Dance!! I learned about it from our Nintendo Wii but now you don’t need a game console to be able to play. Instead, you can use Just Dance Now and even try it for free on your phone! It’s lots of fun, has a variety of music from Queen to Ariana Grande and you can play it alone or with others! Also, it has a competition element to it if you want. Just Dance is a great opportunity to exercise under the guise of having fun (and you actually do have fun!).
Teach your family about the importance of putting you money where your mouth is. Every time you make a purchase you commit to some cause…even if it is your own pocketbook. When you are able to find the right product at the price point you are willing to pay, why not choose an option that makes a positive impact on society? Check out the ranking of companies by how socially responsible these companies are here. Try these Latinx owned businesses. Comparison shop using this extensive list of black owned businesses from around the country using the fantastic search options to filter the 1800 businesses! You can learn about corporate social responsibility here and learn about why it is important to support minority-owned businesses. Don’t take your shopping for granted. Every dollar you spend impacts a cause somewhere, whether you realize it or not, and whether it is a cause you value or not.
It may be boring to learn about the ordinary statues we walk by, admire, and see plaques about every day. Instead, I encourage you to learn about the controversial statues in the United States. The ones you may have heard about in the news but never really looked into or made an opinion about. Find out why these are controversial. Once you’ve explored the history of these statues and their controversies then move on to the controversial statues in other countries around the world.
Manufacturing is one of the largest industries in the U.S. economy comprising over 11%. Check out the virtual experiences from Manufacture Your Future. The webinars and virtual tours they offer for free let you go behind the scenes of the world of manufacturing. With manufacturing hampered by Covid-19 and being discussed in the news more often than is normally the case for this often taking for granted industry, it’s interesting (and perhaps even important) to understand this sector a bit more.
