200. CHECK OUT EVEN MORE ACTIVITIES

Stir Crazy Family isn’t the only site offering resources to keep you occupied while you are stuck at home. Check out these posts and sites for thousands of education and entertainment resources for all ages:

199. ORDER FOOD FROM YOUR LOCAL RESTAURANTS

I just found out one of our local restaurants that has been around for over 100 years in Manhattan will not be reopening. Paris Cafe is a historic community restaurant and will be greatly missed. I have been a customer for 20+ years. Be good to your neighborhood restaurants, especially the ones that have weathered other storms (Paris Cafe even made it through Hurricane Sandy!). These beloved restaurants are a piece of history in your own neighborhood so do all you can to cherish them.

198. WATCH SOME CLASSIC FILMS

Gather the family and some fresh popcorn together to watch some classic movies. Check out these 30 Hollywood Classics Streaming for Free in the Public Domain with links to the movies themselves that you can use to watch these classic films right now! Is there a classic movie you have always wanted to watch but it isn’t on that list. Try one of these 10 sources for streaming movies. Not sure what movies you might like? Check out this list of the 100 Best Classic Movies or check Best Movies to Watch in Quarantine, According to Famous Directors.

197. LEARN ABOUT MATH THROUGH THESE FREEBIES AND DISCOUNTS

It’s great to get things for free of course. But sometimes free isn’t even worth it if the item or promotion isn’t one you need or gets you invested in a larger commitment. Also, discounts can seem to make something affordable, but if a company has hiked up prices to give you that promotion then it’s not a great deal after all. Check out the free and discount opportunities in these posts below with your kids and discuss whether the promotion is a good value for your family. Talk out the pros and cons so your kids can understand the different parts of the equation that ultimately helps you figure out whether something is a value like price, quantity, size, brand reputation, quality, reviews, shipping cost, comparison pricing, and so forth. As a bonus, you’ll likely score some great freebies and discounts at these sites!

196. LEARN ABOUT ANIMALS

Seaworld has an amazing selection of animal related resources for children and adults to enjoy and learn from. These don’t just cover sealife though and actually involve a great variety of animal species. Their resources have beautiful graphics and pictures and are easy to use online or print out. Check out their one page information sheets called Animal Bytes. Their Animal InfoBooks are available for 30 animals. Seaworld has also made available their program called Saving a Species for free. Each episode is 25 minutes and the site include teacher resources to explore the episodes. Additional teacher guides are available. Each is 30+ pages, in beautiful color, and includes pages that can be printed out and given directly to kids. Classroom activities by age are available as well.
