I know it’s the start of the work week for many. For many others, it’s not. Take the time to de-stress either way. Enjoy a few moments of imagining yourself outside of your current space into worlds far far away. Some of these activities will help.
Some of us are not in the countryside, don’t have backyards, and are surrounded by concrete. If that describes you, then check out this virtual teaching garden with your family. Regular activities are posted that let your household explore the science of botany from your own home. Plus, you get to enjoy images of beautiful flowers and other scenery from Governor’s Island, one of the most peaceful places in New York City.
When I was young, a friend and I used to take the Cosmo personality quizzes together. I recently saw this dinosaur personality quiz and remembered how much fun we had. So here are some other ones for you to enjoy! Of course if you are enjoying this as a family activity, make sure the quiz is family friendly. Try this one from Highlights magazine: Which Color Matches Your Personality? This one from Buzzfeed has images so it’s easy for any age and tells you which children’s show character you are most like. National Geographic has 15 personality quizzes covering which president you are most like to which baby animal! Be careful that you only take these kinds of personality quizzes from legitimate sites and not through advertisements or posts on Facebook!
Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday. Giving Tuesday is an opportunity to help out causes that you care about when they need your support most. Check out the Giving Tuesday website to find a cause that you want to donate to. Look out for emails in your inbox from organizations you are already invested in to quickly and easily donate online. Giving Tuesday is a great opportunity to learn about different issues you care about. Now more than ever is the time for this “Global Generosity Movement.”
For a limited time, Colonial Williamsburg is offering for free films that usually would only be accessible at their location to paying visitors and members. From 3-15 minutes, these five film shorts are fascinating glimpses into life and culture during the revolutionary war.
If you miss Broadway or Disney and love musicals in particular, I have got the best playlist for you! Check out this absolutely amazing Disney playlist. Lay back, relax, clothes your eyes, and press play!
