118. HAVE FUN WITH IMPROVISATION

The Alphabet Game (aka ABC Game) is an theatrical training game that allows budding actors to learn improv techniques. The game requires you to stay in character for the duration of the game. The winner is the one who can stay in the game the longest without missing their turn. Each person’s turn requires them to say a sentence in which the first letter of the first word is the one that come next in the alphabet from the previous person’s turn. Epic Games offers a new free online game each week. According to their FAQ, “Epic will be offering a new free game available each week throughout 2020. When you claim a free game, it’s yours to keep – even after the game is no longer available to new customers for free.” For gamers Epic offers pretty exciting stuff. You get to experience the latest in digital gaming, broad game options, and a free game each week. Even for those who aren’t the biggest fans of digital gaming, there is bound to be something to enjoy. As a bonus, through April 16th they are having an up to 75% off sale!

116. LISTEN TO HISTORY

Fraunces Tavern Museum is an iconic New York landmark where George Washington gave his Farewell Address. This amazing historic hotspot offers a monthly lecture series. Though these are suspended currently, the archive of prior presentations is available on their website. Currently there are 26 of these lectures. These are perfect for history buffs or for families looking to integrate learning more about American history into the their weekly routines. These one hour lectures cover topics related to Washington, Hamilton, Jefferson and many others with speakers who are esteemed well-published period scholars. Topics like “The Tragedy of Benedict Arnold” are sure to inform, entertain, and marvel.
